This screen allows you to view the permissions of different roles and add new roles to your BSN Content Cloud network.

Adding a Role

Click the  Edit icon and select Add Role to add a new role to the network. 

• Name: Enter a name for the role

• Description: Enter a custom description for the role

• Copy Permissions from an Existing Role: Select this option to copy permissions from another role on the network. Use the From Role dropdown list to select the role. If you don't enable this option, the custom role will have no permissions by default.

Deleting a Role

Click the  Edit icon and select Delete Role to delete a role from the network. Only custom roles can be deleted.

User Roles and Permissions

Administrators

The Administrators role gives you access to all the features offered on BSN.cloud. This is the only role that allows you to edit the account status of other users: as an administrator, you can add new users, delete existing users, and assign users to different roles. 

The first user of a bsn.cloud account will automatically be assigned to the Administrators role. If you are not the first user on your account, an administrator must assign this role to you. Only one administrator account is allowed per network in the free Control Cloud service, and the email address used to create that network is the administrator and cannot be changed. To add administrators or change the administrator to a different user/email, you must upgrade to Content Cloud.

Multiple administrators are allowed in our paid Content Cloud service. By default, the email address used to create the Content Cloud network is the first administrator on the network.

Creators

The Creators role gives you complete control of content, including presentations, Dynamic Playlists, Tagged Playlists, Live Text feeds, Live Media feeds and Web Pages. You do not have the ability to view or change schedules, groups, or players. This role is best suited for those tasked solely with creating presentation content for BrightSign players.

The General Managers role gives you full control of content creation and distribution. The only permissions you don’t have are the advanced user and account features that are unique to Administrators.
