Local Playlist
A Local Playlist allows you to customize which Dynamic Playlist is used in a presentation depending on the player. For example, if you are using BrightSign players at a dozen different locations, and the locations require the same content except for variations in the content of the Dynamic Playlists, you only need to create, edit, and update one presentation that uses a Local Playlist rather than a dozen that use different Dynamic Playlists.
Tip
To use a Local Playlist, you first need to sign in to the BrightSign Network and add Dynamic Playlists to your presentation (via File > Presentation Properties > Data Feeds).
To add a Local Playlist to your presentation, click the Other tab in the Media Library. Then drag and drop the Local Playlist icon where you would normally add a Dynamic Playlist.
State name: Enter a unique name for the Local Playlist state.
Default playlist: Specify a default Dynamic Playlist for players to use. If a player enters the Local Playlist state and does not have a Dynamic Playlist assigned to it, it will use the default Dynamic Playlist instead.
Filter by player name: Enter a search term and click the
icon. The list will be filtered to contain only players with names that match (or partially match) the search term.
Filter by playlist name: Enter a search term and click the icon. The list will be filtered to contain only players currently assigned Dynamic Playlists with names that match (or partially match) the search term.
Note
The Filter by playlist name search function works on the currently saved configuration for the Local Playlist: If you've made changes to Dynamic Playlist assignments since opening the Local Playlist state, you will need to click OK to save those changes and reopen the Local Playlist state for the search function to operate on the current configuration.
Playlist: Assign a Dynamic Playlist to each player connected to your BrightSign Network Account.
