This page describes how to add or remove Content Cloud device subscriptions in BrightAuthor:connected. There are two kinds of Content Cloud subscription types:

  • Grace Subscription: If you already have a BrightAuthor:connected Control Cloud network, you can try the Content Cloud network for free for 30 days, regardless of the subscription status of the other players on your network. This gives you time to configure, install, and test new players on your network before going through the process of buying subscriptions.

  • Subscriptions: These can be automatically added to your network as part of the fulfillment process. These subscriptions auto-renew on a regular basis.


To Transfer Subscriptions on BrightAuthor:connected

To remove a currently active subscription from one player and transfer it to another player:

  1. Remove the device with the subscription from internet

  2. Delete the device from the Network tab that has the subscription. This makes the subscription available for a different device.

  3. Connect the desired device up to the Network tab.

  4. The device should take the subscription once it is connected to the network.


How a Subscription is Used and/or Assigned in BrightAuthor:connected

You can see the status of your grace subscription in the Admin window under User settings. Subscriptions are taken on a first come, first served basis.

  • Available: The subscription is available to be assigned to a player. The subscription does not have an expiration date yet unless it was previously assigned to a different player.

  • Activated: The subscription has been assigned to a player and activated. The subscription has a defined expiration date.
