Follow these steps to automatically provision new players over the internet:

Prepare Your Players for the Control Cloud

  1. Make sure you have a BSN.cloud account and are logged in.

  2. Connect your players to a live internet connection through Ethernet and to the display screen through HDMI®.

  3. Power on your players with a blank Micro SD card.

  4. Go to the Admin tab and select Device Setup

  5. In Device Settings, fill out Package NameDevice Name, and Device Description, as in Figure 1. Set the Idle Screen Color to something other than black, so that you can see if the player is outputting a video signal. For more details about each parameter, visit this page.

  6. Select the Device Type. Control Cloud account users can select Partner Application (to select a CMS partner) and Custom Application URL (to set players up behind a firewall) in addition to the Standalone, Local File Networking, and Simple File Networking options.

  7. Choose Add Setup File to Library.

Provision the Player(s)

  1. Go to the Admin tab in BrightAuthor:connected and select Device Provisioning (also known as B-Deploy).

  2. If you have a limited number of players to provision, use the checkboxes to select them from the list, and select Apply Setup. Then select the setup file that you saved to your library in the previous section. Apply Setup to the player you want to update. The players will automatically download and apply the new setup files from the cloud.

  3. If you need to provision a large number of players, you can Download Template to create a CSV file containing serial numbers, device names and other device information and then Upload Provisioning File to provision the players using that CSV file.

  4. To add more players, select Add Device. Enter the Serial Number, Device Name, and Device Description and then Add Device.
