Setting a Password Requirement for USB Drives

Setting a Password Requirement for USB Drives

If you specified a password during standalone setup, you will need to enter that password when publishing for USB drive updates:

  1. Select Local System Storage.

  2. Select USB in the Property Panel under Options (see the image on the right).

  3. Check the box labeled Publish for USB update.

  4. Enter the password that you entered when setting up the device in the Specify Password dialog box.

  5. Complete the publish.

  6. Insert the USB storage device into their BrightSign player. It will display a message indicating that a publish is in progress. On completion, the user is instructed to remove the USB drive; the system reboots and plays back the updated presentation.

If you did not setup the device with a password, you don't need to specify one when publishing an update.
