All Series 3 and 4 players have a real-time clock (RTC); however, the LS424 does not have a supercapacitor to keep the clock running when there is no other power source. If you power cycle an LS424 that is not connect to the Internet (or cannot reach a , the player will lose its configured time settings, and (unless the player can reach a local/remote timeserver) , the player it will not be able to play day-parted presentations at scheduled times or be able to communicate with SSL servers (including the BrightSign Network).
